Workshops. Studio skills 2 - Light character and control: object

This session was aimed at developing understanding of the character and quality of lighting and how to control this with small scale static subject matter. At the beginning of the session we were given 'Egg challenge' exercise to learn how to control the effective size of the light source (degree of diffusion) and understand its influence on the resultant illumination character of subject matter (in this case an egg). It also required careful control of light spillage to control the illumination transition from foreground to background.

Later on we tried to photograph different objects using one light source.
